Junior midfielder
Santiago Castañeda finished the season with 19 assists and 16 goals. In the 3A state title match, he scored a goal in the first half that turned out to be the winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Miami Ransom Everglades in a matchup between two of the top three teams in the nation according to MaxPreps.
The winners in each classification were selected through voting from a statewide panel of boys soccer coaches and media representatives. They are now eligible to be named the overall winner in the state, which will go through another round of voting and likely be announced next week.
