Tampa Prep announced the hiring of Dr. Bobby Calhoun as head boys' lacrosse coach on July 20, 2022.
A native of Jupiter, FL, Dr. Calhoun brings 11 years of coaching experience with him as he joins the Tampa Prep family. He is the team chiropractor for The University of Tampa as well as co-head coach of the U14 Tampa Palms travel lacrosse team.
Dr. Calhoun attended the New York Institute of Technology and played lacrosse for the Bears before transferring to the University of Tampa, where he continued his athletic career and earned a degree in Allied Health with a concentration in Physical therapy studies. He served as captain for the Spartans and helped lead the team to two conference championships, followed by two NCAA tournament appearances.
After graduating with his bachelor's degree, Dr. Calhoun attended Keiser University's College of Chiropractic Medicine (KUCCM). He was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award and the Sports Performance & Physical Rehabilitation award in his graduating class. While attending Keiser's doctoral program, he served as offensive coordinator and helped lead the Seahawks to the NAIA National Championship. He went on to play professionally for the Florida Launch (MLL).
