ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Tampa Prep Track & Field delivered an impressive performance on Tuesday at Shorecrest during the District 9-1A Championship Meet, securing seven individual district titles and setting two new school records as several athletes advanced to the Regional Meet.
Cai Culpepper and
Jacob Burke each claimed two district titles, sweeping the 200m and 400m events. Culpepper also broke her own 400m school record with a time of 53.90, surpassing the 54.06 mark she set earlier this season.
Ailani Forde earned titles in both the long jump and triple jump, setting a new school record in the long jump with a mark of 5.42m (17' 9½"), surpassing her previous best of 5.36m (17' 7") from last year.
Aaron Adegbesan completed the championship sweep with a first-place finish in the shot put.
The Track & Field program has set eight school records so far this season.
The top four placing individuals or relay teams from the District Meet advanced to the Region 3-1A Meet, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, at Northside Christian.
