TAMPA, Fla. - The Tampa Prep Varsity Terrapins delivered a dramatic 6-3 walk-off victory over Berkeley Prep on Tuesday night. With the game tied at three in the bottom of the 12th,
Will Futch crushed a three-run homer to right field, sealing the win.
The battle was back and forth all night. Berkeley Prep took an early lead in the third, but Tampa Prep fought back to tie it in the seventh. After Berkeley regained the lead in the eighth, the Terrapins responded once again to even the score. The pitching staff held strong, with
Erik Skiendziel and
Kyle Brill combining for 10 strikeouts and keeping Berkeley's offense in check.
Offensively, Tampa Prep tallied nine hits, with
Jordan Della Rocca and
Dennis Martino leading the charge. Futch drove in five runs on the night, while
Grant Brooks showcased patience at the plate with four walks. The defense was locked in, turning two key double plays.
Next up, the Terrapins face SLAM Tampa on Monday.
