Cai Culpepper set a new school record in the 200m dash with a time of 23.87 at the Tampa Bay Private School Championship, a two-day meet held Thursday and Friday at Berkeley Prep. The time, set on Friday, broke her own school record of 24.95 from earlier this season and also established new meet and facility records.
Culpepper also set the meet record in the 400m dash with a time of 54.78.
Her 200m performance surpassed the previous meet record of 24.37 set by Sophie Haag (Calvary Christian, 2022) and the stadium record of 24.14 set by Maiah Walker (Lake Wales, 2017). In the 400m, she eclipsed the meet record of 58.01 held by Kaja Dionne (Shorecrest Prep, 2023).
This marks the sixth school record broken by the track & field program this season.
