Three Pitchers Work Together In No-Hitter To Advance to the District Championship

TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa Prep's three pitchers didn't allow a single hit, as the Terrapins defeated Bell Creek Academy 6-0 on Tuesday. Grant Varner struck out Caden Welton to get the last out of the game. The victory advances the Terrapins to Thursday's District Championship versus Lakeland Christian.

In the second inning, Tampa Prep Terrapins Varsity got their offense started when Varner doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Tampa Prep Terrapins Varsity put up three runs in the fourth inning. Ty Jones and Jose Pena each had RBIs in the frame.

Pena led the Tampa Prep Terrapins Varsity to victory on the pitcher's mound. The fireballer lasted four innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out seven. Alex Sotiropoulos and Varner entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Tyler Fritsch took the loss for Bell Creek Academy. The hurler surrendered three runs on four hits over two innings, striking out one.

Tampa Prep Terrapins Varsity racked up ten hits in the game. Will Sotiropoulos, Jones, Noah Sheffield, and Pena each collected multiple hits for Tampa Prep Terrapins Varsity. Pena, Sheffield, Jones, and Sotiropoulos each collected two hits to lead Tampa Prep Terrapins Varsity.

Bell Creek Academy was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Frank Burke had the most chances in the field with five.
