Terps Down King For Coach Fenlon's 800th Win, 64-34

TAMPA, Fla. - With Tampa Prep's 64-34 victory over King, the Terps improved to 11-8 on the season, and Coach Fenlon recorded his 800th win.

Fenlon, who began coaching at Prep in 1983, was inducted into the FHSAA Hall of Fame in 2019. He has more wins in the state than any other high school boys' basketball coach, and he is now the first with 800 wins in Florida.

A video played after the game, which included congratulatory messages from colleagues, friends, family, and former players.

On the Achievement:

"Congratulations Coach Fenlon! 800 is a significant milestone and truly incredible. Thank you for all the lives you have touched and the joy you have brought to Prep. You are too humble to say it, so I will say it...YOU ARE THE GREATEST! 600...700... State Champion...Hall of Fame, and now 800! Proud to know you. Proud to work with you. Proud to call you a friend.  Congratulations Joe, wishing you and yours all the best at this special time!"
-Kevin Plummer, Head of School

"Coach Fenlon is an icon in the Tampa area and throughout the state. He will be the first to state that his 800th win is not about him, but about every player that has come through the Tampa Prep basketball program. His coaching career has never been about the wins, rather his genuine care in molding his players into great young men. His 800th win is a byproduct of the culture he has established and no one is more deserving of this great feat than Coach Fenlon."
-Chris Lavoie, Athletic Director
